IntelliTalk is a talking word processor ideal for young children, people with learning or visual disabilities, and those who speak English as a second language. Published by IntelliTools, this software can be used with a standard Apple or the IntelliKeys keyboard to provide speech and reading feedback. Like any word processor, IntelliTalk offers various fonts, sizes, and colors, as well as read-aloud functions for those who need or want auditory feedback.

Product Highlights

IntelliTalk's two speech features are:

  • Speak: The computer speaks each letter, word or sentence as it is typed in. These settings can be mixed and matched.
  • Read: The computer reads back what has been written previously. It can read part or all of a document.

IntelliTalk offers two different modes:

  • Picture Menus: Designed for beginning users or children, this mode includes simple commands and menu pictures that illustrate each menu item's function.
  • Standard Menus: Like a standard word processor, this mode includes more menu choices and does not display pictures.

IntelliTalk includes a built-in pronunciation editor, male and female voices, and special read-back options for switch users. A Spanish version is also available.
