WiggleBingo

Help students build their sight word vocabulary by playing bingo with words collected from a WiggleWorks book.

Procedure

Create a 16-square grid by folding a piece of paper or by creating a table in a word processing document with 4 columns and 4 rows. One sheet is needed for each student who will play.

My Words List.
d
Collect at least 16 words from a WiggleWorks book and add them to My Words.

My Words Grid
d
Print out the My Words list as a grid.

Make a deck of word cards using index cards, one word on each card.

Write target words in each square on the bingo sheets or have students cut the words out from printouts and paste into each square. In either case, place the words in the squares at random so that no two sheets are identical.

Give each student coins or buttons to cover the squares for the bingo game.

Have students take turns flipping over the top card from the deck of word cards and reading it to the group. When a word is read, students cover the matching square on their bingo sheet. When a student covers 4 squares in a row in any direction, they call "bingo" and "win." Have the student read the 4 covered squares.
