About the Authors

Dr. David Rose is a founder and Co-Executive Director of the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST), a Boston-based organization that applies technology for students with special learning needs. He is a clinical psychologist who specializes in developmental neuropsychology, with particular interest in the diagnosis of learning disabilities. Dr. Rose has taught all levels in public schools. As teacher, diagnostician, researcher, Harvard University lecturer, and author, he has written many articles and has presented papers at numerous national conferences. He is an author of WiggleWorks: The Scholastic Beginning Literacy System.

Dr. Anne Meyer is a licensed clinical psychologist who has specialized for the last 20 years in working with children and adults who have learning disabilities. As teacher, diagnostician, researcher, and author, she has broad experience in the field with a concentration on the emotional aspects of learning disabilities. In 1984, she helped to found the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) in order to explore more fully the role that technology might play in helping children to feel more effective and to increase their sense of self-esteem. She now serves as CAST's Co-Executive Director, lecturing throughout the country and writing articles for professional journals and books. As part of her innovative work at CAST, she plays a key role in the design of CAST's multimedia software.
