Understanding Plot and Vocabulary (Grades 9 and 10) Lesson 4: Introduction

This UDL lesson is designed to engage students in reading and comprehending Part 2 of the story, reviewing vocabulary from Part 1, developing new vocabulary for Part 2, and analyzing plot elements.

UDL principles are applied by:

• Providing multiple representations of the story text, the vocabulary words, and the plot diagram.
• Offering multiple strategies for understanding the vocabulary and plot elements and offering students options for expressing their understanding.
