What is the "Guide for a One-day Workshop the UDL way"?
The "Guide for a One-day Workshop—the UDL way" is a practical
toolkit for professional development providers/teacher trainers who develop
one-day informational workshops that are focused on specific content. This toolkit guides
professional development providers through a step-by-step process for designing
and implementing a face-to-face informational workshop of approximately six
hours? length. The toolkit helps the user define workshop goals, materials,
methods, and assessments, and provides sample lessons, resources to support
the workshop, and a venue for sharing ideas and information with other educators. In addition, the toolkit offers a model of a one-day workshop, focusing on "Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction". The model includes a workshop agenda with identified goals and objectives, activities, materials, PowerPoint? slides, and other workshop resources.
Maximum benefit from this Guide is achieved when this workshop is linked to
other professional development initiatives that address specific content and
is supported by on-going professional development for participants.
To get the most out of the One-day Workshop Guide and gain a full understanding
of the UDL design procedures, it is suggested that you read,
"Teaching Every Student in the Digital Age",
the foundation text on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
