Interview Notes (April 2003)

On April 23, 2003 we spoke with Rorie Lackey of the Nevada DOE, Special Education Division.We also spoke with Bill Strader of the Nevada DOE, Textbook Adoption Division.

  • No state law requiring requires publishers to provide files. District policies deal with this
  • In May 2003 the Governor signed SB 62 into law. This law concerns postsecondary textbook accessibility. “AN ACT relating to the University and Community College System of Nevada; requiring an institution within the University and Community College System of Nevada to provide electronic versions of instructional materials to students with print access disabilities under certain circumstances; requiring a publisher of such materials to provide the materials to an institution under certain circumstances; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.”
