Interview Notes (April, 2003)

On April 10, 2003 we spoke to Chuck Hays, Principal Consultant, Textbook Division, Illinois Department of Education.

  • Illinois’ Braille Law: Act 87-1071 Sec. 28-21 (publisher must provide ASCII file and print copy of textbook for blind student w/in 10 days of request)
  • Hays is unaware of any state laws or bills to expand publisher requirements beyond Braille
