Research & Solutions
The National Center on Accessing the General Curriculum has evolved quickly from research to practice and from dissemination to leadership. The topics below comprise the major headings for our work.
- Curriculum
Curriculum issues, barriers, and solutions are discussed.
- Teacher Practice
General and Special Education teacher practice issues, barriers, and solutions are discussed. Exemplar instructional lessons and practices are under development.
- Policy
An initial focus on state level issues will lead to an examination of federal and local policy issues.
- Family Education and Advocacy Perspectives
Parent issues and perspectives are discussed.
- Consensus Building
Communications and work with the major national education organizations are reviewed.
- Related Themes and Issues
Review of a few current themes such as school reform, standards, high stakes testing, professional development, etc. that pertain to access to the general curriculum will be explored in this section.
