Pegeen Wright has worked in the field of educational publishing since 1983. An experienced strategic planner, software developer, and project manager for new media curriculum products, Ms. Wright translates emerging technologies into effective solutions in the classroom and marketplace.

As Director of Product Development at CAST, Ms. Wright manages the transformation of CAST's research and development into commercial products, identifying opportunities for partnering with the educational publishing community to expand CAST's Universal Design for Learning initiatives.

Before joining CAST in 2003, Ms. Wright was Vice President, Director of Internet Development for the School Division of Houghton Mifflin Company, where she managed the development, production, marketing, and engineering of the award-winning K-8 Web site, Education Place. Ms. Wright also represented the school division on corporate task forces for digital publishing, XML, eBooks, accessibility, and common Web infrastructure. Before assuming this role, Ms. Wright was Vice President of Instructional Technology, School Division, at Houghton Mifflin, developing award-winning, technology-based curricula to support K-8 instructional programs. Prior to joining Houghton Mifflin, Ms. Wright held positions as Executive Editor, Instructional Technology, at Silver Burdett Ginn, and as Senior and Project Editors at Scholastic Inc.

Ms. Wright's teaching experience includes stints as an instructional technology curriculum specialist at the New Jersey Department of Education, where she developed a state plan for educational technology use, and instructor at Columbia University Teachers College and New York State Board of Cooperative Educational Services. She also designed and implemented a behavior modification program to help prepare profoundly mentally retarded adults for independent living.

Ms. Wright holds a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University and was certified in New Jersey as a Teacher of the Handicapped. She holds an M.A. in Technology in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
