Amy Ingalls joined CAST in 2002 to assist in the design and implementation of CAST's professional development programs, bringing to her role a strong background in instructional design and its application to the creation of new media using technology.

Most recently, Ms. Ingalls was a staff developer and research associate for the Center to Link Urban Schools with Information and Support in Technology and Special Education (LINKoUS), a program funded by the Office of Special Education Programs and housed at the Education Development Center, Inc. in Newton, MA. In her role with the LINKoUS Project, Ms. Ingalls provided in-class technical assistance and teacher professional development in three urban school districts and maintained the project's STAR Tech Program Web site.

Ms. Ingalls began her career as a high school English teacher. As a middle school language arts teacher, she discovered "the amazing power of technology" while using project-based learning to engage reluctant readers and writers. Later, as a graduate assistant, she worked with InTech, Georgia's statewide technology-focused teacher education program.

Ms. Ingalls received her B.S. in Education and Master of Education in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia. She also holds a certificate in Gifted and Talented Education.
